Church Build
Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating poverty housing worldwide by building adequate and affordable housing with families in need, but our mission is more than that. Habitat is about building strong communities!
Back in 2008, fourteen local churches and faith-based organizations joined LowCountry Habitat for Humanity to fully fund and build a house on the corner of Prince and Hamar Streets downtown. What is known as the Faith House, built for Anne Marie Ray and her children, followed up on the success of twelve churches coming together in 2006 to build the Apostles Build house for Carlesha Chaplin and her children.
Just as Christ fulfilled His ministry with twelve apostles, churches and faith-based organizations are picking up the hammer as an instrument to manifest God’s love to build a third church-sponsored house for someone in our community. The job site, oddly enough, will be at the corner of Congress Street and Church Street downtown. Please call 522-3500 to learn how to participate in this vital work and seize the opportunity to put faith into action!
