Construction Update – July 13, 2017

every hand
makes a difference

This week, our wonderful construction volunteers have been building the privacy section for the HVAC unit and painting the exterior of the Brays Island House. Pictured above are Bill Weber and Peter Pearks, two of our faithful Wednesday crew. Together, Bill and Peter have volunteered in construction for 28 years and contributed over 1000 hours. Thank you guys!
Last Saturday we had 27 new volunteers at Orientation! The third Saturday of each month has been designated as New Construction Volunteer Saturday and we hope to see all of you who indicated an interest in construction at the Brays Island House build, at 2216 Trask Parkway on Saturday. We will be painting the exterior. All oriented volunteers and family partners are also welcome! Saturday construction hours are now 8 am until 2 pm, with a 15 minute break. Please bring a snack to keep you energized!
Due to the 25th Anniversary Home Build site dedicationnext Thursday 20th, there will be no construction on that day. Next Tuesday and Wednesday, between 8 am and noon we will continue painting the exterior.
If you have completed volunteer orientation, please check your schedule and join us on the Brays Island House build. Please remember to email Michael Perry, construction manager, at michael@lowcountryhabitat.org so that he can plan accordingly.
Thank you!
The Brays Island House will become home to Family Partner, SherylTucker and her son, Keyvon. LowCountry Habitat for Humanity thanks all our volunteers for everything you do to help build homes, communities and hope in northern Beaufort county.

Join us at 10 am on Thursday July 20th at 906 Greene Street to help kick-off the 25th Anniversary Home Build and meet Brandi Hussmann, the family partner who will call this home.
