Donation Guidelines

LowCountry Habitat for Humanity ReStore 

We request that all donations are clean and in good working order.
Drop off your donation at our store, or for larger donations, call us at 525-0055 to arrange a pickup.

 

Appliances

All appliances must be less than 10 years old, clean and in 100% working order with no missing parts. Please include owners manuals if you have them, as they add value to your donation. (Note: if older than 10 years, please call us at 843-525-0055).

Accepted:

  • Washers
  • Dryers
  • Oven/Ranges (Drop-in or free-standing)
  • Cooktops
  • Refrigerators
  • Microwave ovens
  • Dishwashers

Cabinets

Accepted:

  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinets
  • Must have all doors, drawers, shelves, etc.
  • Door hardware; Drawer pulls

Not Accepted:

  • No water damaged or soiled cabinets
  • No cabinets missing doors or drawers

Countertops

Accepted: 

  • Straight countertops in neutral colors

Not Accepted:

  •  No water damaged countertop

Doors

Accepted:

  • Interior/Exterior doors
  • Residential only (No slabs taller than 7 feet)
  • Sliding glass doors with all hardware and frame
  • Thresholds and weather stripping

Not Accepted:

  • No doors with rot, damaged corners
  • No single sliding glass doors, unassembled
  • No steel, commercial slab doors
  • Free of peeling paint

Electrical

Accepted:

  • Plugs
  • Plates
  • Wire

Flooring

Accepted:

(Must be new and 40 sq. ft. or more)

  • Tile
  • Vinyl tile, sheet vinyl
  • Slate, marble
  • Area rugs in new condition
  • Hardwood/Parquet flooring (25 sq. ft. or more)

Not Accepted:

  • Used Flooring

Furniture

Accepted:

  • Bedroom Sets
  • Dining Sets
  • Wood and metal furniture
  • Office chairs
  • Upholstered furniture in near new condition

Not Accepted:

  • Mattresses or box springs
  • Cribs
  • Unframed mirrors

Hardware

Accepted:

  • Hardware for doors, cabinets, etc.
  • Hinges
  • Hangers
  • Connectors
  • Fasteners: unopened boxes of nails, screws, bolts, etc.

Not Accepted:

  • No locks without keys
  • No broken items
  • No loose nails, screws, bolts

Housewares

Accepted:

  • Small appliances
  • Dishes, plates, cups, bowls
  • Lamps
  • Artwork, decorative pieces

Not Accepted:

  • Clothing

Insulation

Accepted:

  • Fiberglass insulation rolls
  • Insulation board

Lighting

Accepted:

  • Interior/Exterior light fixtures
  • All hardware included; In working order

Not Accepted:

  • No fluorescent fixtures
  • No ballasts with pcb’s

Lumber

Accepted:

  • Dimensional (6 foot minimum, treated or non-treated)
  • Trim and molding (5 foot minimum)
  • Sheet goods (1/2 sheet min., particle, press, plywood, OSB, paneling, etc.)
  • Floor joists (8 foot minimum)
  • Porch posts
  • Railings
  • Fence

Not Accepted:

  • Please no nails, screws, or staples
  • No cracked, broken, rotted or warped
  • No scraps, please

Paint

Accepted:

  • New, unopened paint (less than 5 years old)

Not Accepted:

  • No opened, used paint
  • No wallpaper, borders (unless new)

Plumbing

Accepted:

All plumbing must be neutral color

  • Bathroom sinks (wall mount sinks should include wall mount plate)
  • Kitchen sinks
  • Bathroom vanities
  • Bathtubs (no chips or dents)
  • Toilets
  • Faucets
  • PVC pipes
  • Misc. plumbing hardware

Not Accepted:

  • No rust, cracks, stains, or water damage
  • Unframed glass or mirrors

Roofing

Accepted:

  • Corrugated roofing/standing seam (no rust)
  • Vinyl siding in new condition
  • Shingles (only accept new)
  • Metal sheeting
  • Gutters (must be new; 10 foot minimum)

Tools

Accepted:

  • Hand and power tools in working condition

Windows

Accepted:

  • Complete window units
  • Double pane
  • Screens
  • Shutters in good condition

Not Accepted:

  • No window blinds (unless new)

Items Not Accepted

  • Clothing
  • Hazardous materials
  • Mattresses
  • Mirrors or broken glass
  • Toys
  • Window blinds (unless new)
