Volunteer opportunities exist in every area of our affiliate’s operation – there is a need for all types of abilities and skill levels.
Volunteer to Build
Build days are Tuesdays through Fridays, from 8 am to until noon and Saturdays, 8 am until 2 pm, with a break for a packed lunch at noon. Please arrive promptly.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on a Habitat construction site. No construction experience is needed as skilled supervision will be provided. Please do not come directly to the build site, but sign up in advance by emailing our Volunteer Coordinator at email@example.com. To volunteer on Tuesday through Friday, sign up is required by 9 am on the preceding Monday, at the latest. To volunteer on Saturday, sign up is required by 9 am on the preceding Friday, at the latest.
If you are an individual or part of a group and would like to get started working on a build site, there are just a few simple steps that you need to follow.
You must first review the Construction Safety Manual. Then, adults need to complete the On Line Construction Volunteer Registration Form & Release and Waiver of Liability 2018 and turn it in to our volunteer coordinator, either in person at the office at 616 Parris Island Gateway, or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Minors (under 18) must submit the Minor Construction Volunteer Registration Form 2018 signed by a parent or legal guardian. Once we have your completed paperwork, you will be added to our weekly Construction Update mailing list. The Construction Update is emailed each Thursday and includes volunteer needs for the following Saturday through Friday. Check your schedule and if you wish to volunteer, simply email our Volunteer Coordinator at email@example.com so that we will know to expect you and plan accordingly.

Although most people think immediately of construction when they think of Habitat for Humanity, we also need volunteers in our ReStore, at our Warehouse, in the office, on Special Events and to serve on our standing committees: Board Development, Construction, Development, Faith Relations, Family Selection and Support, Family of Families, Land Acquisition, ReStore Advisory and Volunteer.

The first step to becoming a volunteer with LowCountry Habitat is to attend an orientation session. Monthly orientations are held at the Habitat office, located at 616 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10am.They usually last about an hour.
