makes a difference

Thanks so much to all this week’s volunteers who have worked on our Faith House Build at 2523 Mossy Oaks Road, and the Dataw 2 House Build at 2521 Mossy Oaks Road. We are making excellent progress!

This Saturday and next Tuesday and Wednesday, between 8 am and noon, we will be installing insulation at Dataw 2, so please be sure to wear a long sleeve shirt. We will also be painting exterior trim and siding at both House Builds. (In addition, the sheet rockers will be at work on Dataw 2 next week.)

The office will be closed for the Independence Day Holiday next Thursday and Friday, July 4th and 5th. Due to the holiday, there will be no construction activity on those two days, and there will be no construction update next week. On Saturday, July 6th, and the following Tuesday through Thursday, we will continue with exterior painting at both House Builds. On Friday, July 12th we already have a full volunteer roster, as we have a large group of volunteer painters from The Naval Hospital.

If you wish to sign up to volunteer over the next couple of weeks, Faith volunteers are requested to contact their Faith Build coordinator. If you wish to volunteer on the Dataw 2 Build, please phone Lee at the office at 843-522-3500.

We continue to have several pressing volunteer needs:
The ReStore needs volunteers to serve as cashiers. We also need Tuesday morning volunteers to accept and prepare donations for the store. Our wood shop is in urgent need of painters. For many years, our fabulous volunteer, Ilene, has led the painting team at the warehouse. As Ilene, relocates to Florida next week, we wish her all the very best, and thank you so much for all your help, we will miss you!

We are also in need of volunteers to help at the Beaufort Water Festival on July 13 & 20th, between 9:15 pm and 12:30 am.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please email Lee at, or phone: 843-522-3500.

LowCountry Habitat for Humanity wishes all our volunteers a happy and safe July 4th! Thank you all for helping us to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope in northern Beaufort county.

The Dataw 2 House Build will become home to the Sawyer family: Roderick, Tymeca and children, Neriah, Malchiel, Jadon and Grace.
