23 Oct Construction Update – October 23, 2015
The rain moved on and thanks to our fabulous Saturday Volunteers and some great dry weather, the storage sheds, one for each of the Mint Farm houses, are finally under construction. If you have attended orientation and would like to help build the sheds, please be sure to join Daniel and his Saturday crew at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, and/or next Saturday. The sheds are constructed just like little houses, so it’s a great project to gain experience in many areas of construction. Come on over to Mint Farm to lend a hand, and have some fun!
The Stud House is drawing ever closer to completion, and the Tribute House is on track to be completed by mid December. To stay on track we really need YOUR help at the build site. We know the Holidays are busy, but we’d like to have 10 Volunteers each day. Please check your calendar and plan to help us achieve our goal of having both Partner Families moved into #19 for Thanksgiving, and #20 for Christmas. Please call the office: 843-525-0055 to ensure your place on the Construction Volunteer Schedule. The Construction schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday 8 a.m. until noon. It is with a heavy heart that we announce Jerry Hammond’s intention to leave the Beaufort area, to return to Ohio. Jerry plans to continue with LowCountry Habitat for Humanity until mid-January to insure the completion of our two current homes. We wish Jerry the best of luck in his future endeavors and thank him for his service.
As we begin the search for a new Construction Manager, please contact the office if you have any questions or suggestions. We will continue to move forward with construction plans as well as our weekly updates. Remember you can visit the website or our Facebook page to look at the latest news about LowCountry Habitat for Humanity.
