Volunteers Anne and Sally showing that it is possible to work on the Brays Island 2 House Build, have fun celebrating volunteer Marc’s birthday, and practice social distancing. Thanks so much to all of this week’s volunteers. We built all the interior walls and finished exterior sheathing. Next week we will build porches and prep for installation of Trusses. Family Partner, Denise has been on site too and is very excited to share in the progress of her future home. Calling all construction volunteers: WE NEED YOU! The ReStore reopened last Thursday and had a very successful week. Everyone was very happy to be back. New shopping hours are Thursday to Saturday, 10 am – 4 pm. Donation Drop-off is available Tuesday & Wednesday, 9am – 3 pm. Donation Pick-up of larger items can be scheduled by calling 843-525-0055, or online here.
South Carolina Association of Habitat Affiliates (SCAHA) has organized distribution and donation of 300 gallons of hand sanitizer and 85,000 masks, to Habitat Affiliates across the state. Thank you to our partners like FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency, for empowering us to continue working safely, throughout the pandemic.
LowCountry Habitat for Humanity has joined with many Beaufort, Port Royal and Sea Islands area businesses to ensure the cleanliness and safety for employees and consumers. The Beaufort Safe Commitment is based on CDC Guidelines and focuses on cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, workplaces, and businesses properly and effectively.
