LowCountry Habitat for Humanity could not help partner families realize their dream of homeownership without the help of many dedicated volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please click here, complete the form, and be sure to attend our volunteer orientation, usually held the second Saturday of every month at 10:00 am at 616 Parris Island Gateway, but currently suspended until further notice.
Volunteer opportunities exist in every area of our affiliate’s operation – there is a need for all types of abilities and skill levels.
Volunteer to Build
Build days are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 8 am until noon. Sometimes, we work until 2 pm on Saturday, with a break for a packed lunch at noon. Please arrive promptly.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on a Habitat construction site. No construction experience is needed as skilled supervision will be provided. Please do not come directly to the build site. Volunteer orientation and online sign up is required, in advance. To volunteer on Tuesday through Friday, sign up is required by 9 am on the preceding Monday, at the latest. To volunteer on Saturday, sign up is required by 9 am on the preceding Friday, at the latest.
If you are an individual or part of a group and would like to get started working on a build site, there are just a few simple steps that you need to follow.
You must first attend a volunteer orientation. If you are a group of 10 or more, we can schedule a meeting at a mutually convenient location and time. Once we have your completed paperwork, you will be added to our weekly Construction Update mailing list. The Construction Update is emailed each Thursday and includes volunteer needs for the following Saturday through Friday. Check your schedule and if you wish to volunteer, simply click on the online sign up link.
Groups of 3 or more should contact our Volunteer Coordinator at
email@example.com or 843-522-3500.
Although most people think immediately of construction when they think of Habitat for Humanity, we also need volunteers in our ReStore, at our Warehouse, in the office, on Special Events and to serve on our standing committees: Board Development, Construction, Development, Faith Relations, Family Selection and Support, Family of Families, Land Acquisition, ReStore Advisory and Volunteer.
To learn more, and get started, please attend a volunteer orientation session. These are usually held the second Saturday of every month at 10:00 am at 616 Parris Island Gateway, but are currently suspended, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
