Planned Giving

Have you ever thought about continuing to give after your lifetime?

LowCountry Habitat for Humanity would be grateful to be included in your estate planning.  Your planned gift will benefit Habitat’s housing ministry beyond your lifetime—moving us ever closer to the ultimate goal of every person in our community having a decent place to live.

There are numerous types of planned gifts. The simplest include:

A bequest:  A gift or legacy left in your will or living trust, typically personal property or assets. To create a bequest, please use the following language:

“I, [name], of [city, state, ZIP], give, devise and bequeath to LowCountry Habitat for Humanity [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

An IRA, retirement plan, or life insurance policy:   Naming LowCountry Habitat for Humanity the beneficiary of part or all of an IRA or retirement plan account, or a life insurance policy.

A charitable gift annuity: An agreement in which you transfer cash or other assets to LowCountry Habitat for Humanity in exchange for its promise to pay you an annuity for life.
